About - Edmond Chlud
Edmond was born and raised in Zlin, in the Czech Republic. As a young man, Edmond went to Italy in the early 1990’s, and took a position in the small restoration shop Restauro mobili antichi Vincenzo Marini– Rovato, Brescia, supervised by Vincenzo Marini himself, a well-known and respected craftsman.
The work mainly included restorations of fine Italian and French hand made furniture of high historical and cultural importance. It was there that Edmond learned the secrets of polishing from the 70 year-old maestro named Albert, who positively affected his life until this day.
Some of the major commissions that Edmond have completed include restoration of the largest parish school in Italy: Seminario Biella-Piemonte, a private palace Streparava built in the 700’s in Carmine, Brescia, and many churches in the Lombardy province.
Presently is Edmond working again with the help of the Italian masters, on reproductions of French and Italian style furniture of the highest quality using old authentic techniques. Edmond has also restored several historic properties, including a château in the Czech Republic – focusing on grand stairways wood carved paneled ceilings and walls, interior doors and main entry doors as well.
